This beautiful couple loves candid and natural photos, and that’s exactly how we approached it - letting the day unfold while capturing all the little moments that make a wedding truly special.
We only had a short time for couple portraits, but that was more than enough to create a few effortlessly editorial photographs that still felt natural and true to them.
New Place Hotel, just outside Southampton, is a popular choice for weddings, but it has just as much to offer beyond the obvious. Set within the grounds of a former estate, it carries a sense of history without ever feeling overly formal.
There are the gardens, for one thing — open, well-kept, and easy to move through across the day. Plus: a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces that allow the celebration to unfold without everything feeling confined to one setting. The scale works in its favour, too — large enough to feel like an occasion, but never so vast that it loses its intimacy.
It’s easy to see why couples are drawn to it. The setting does a lot of the work for you, without ever feeling staged or overdesigned.
If you’d like to see how it all came together for Sam & Ellie, the full story is here.

Shall we talk about your day?
If these images resonate with you, I'd be honoured to be your photographer on your special day.
And just to answer something I often get asked - I travel across the UK all the time for weddings, so even if you’re getting married in Scotland, Wales or somewhere a little further away, I’d be more than happy to come.
Travel is always kept simple and reasonable, and in many cases it’s already included.
